San Fernando Race

This is a challenging 480nm Category 1 Offshore Race from Hong Kong, China to San Fernando, Philippines.
From its inauguration in 1977, when a group of sailing enthusiasts decided to cruise down to San Fernando and race back, the event has had a special place in the hearts of those who have participated, not only for providing the challenge of an offshore race, but because they have enjoyed the warmth and camaraderie that surrounds the fleet.
The organising committee is very keen to encourage as many qualifying boats as possible to enter, with skippers who wish to enter their boats for the first time warmly welcomed into the fleet.
Each yacht will have a YB tracker installed onboard for the duration of the race. It will collect and transmit data, such as direction, speed and distance to finish every fifteen minutes, so any friends, family, and of course the race organiser will be able to follow the fleet or just an individual boat through our race tracker.
We hope the participants have fun challenging race and will enjoy a few celebratory beers on the beach in San Fernando at the finish.
