One Day To Go Until Australia's First Ever Red Bull Can You Make It? Challenge

  • August 14, 2014

There are just 24 hours to go until 60 university students from across Australia will be setting off on the adventure of a lifetime in the nation’s inaugural Red Bull Can You Make It? adventure.

Travelling without cash or credit cards, the 20 teams - each made up of 3 students from universities all over Australia - will be competing to reach nominated checkpoints around the continent, complete a series of challenges and get to the finish line first.

Setting off tomorrow at 9am AEST, Wednesday 13th Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, the teams will cover hundreds of kilometres in the next 5 days, using only Red Bull cans as currency.

The cans will be traded for transportation, lodging, food and other necessities required to reach the final checkpoint at the AJ Hackett Bungy in Cairns, where the teams must take the plunge before crossing the Finish Line.

In total, there are 15 checkpoints spread out across Australia. Teams will have to visit a minimum of 6 to successfully complete the competition. Throughout this epic journey, the teams will be connected on the Telstra Mobile Network as they make their way around Australia. They will also upload photos of their adventure using Samsung Ace 3s rallying support from followers back home, and record a video diary along the way using Sony Action Cams.

The winning team must arrive in Cairns on Sunday 17th distance in the 5 days, reached the most checkpoints, used more transportation methods than any other team and rallied the greatest support following. Only then will they be crowned the Red Bull Can You Make It? champions.

Aside from the glory of being the very first Red Bull Can You Make It? victors in Australia, the winning team will also receive an incredible all-expenses paid holiday to South East Asia courtesy of Contiki Tours Australia, as well as a Sony Action Cam and accessories package to record their memories.
