Solo Master CoQ
- April 14, 2015
The now classic 320 nautical mile loop course should take the participants 36 to 48 hours dependent on the weather. The route will take the fleet from the Sables d 'Olonne, between the island of Yeu, the Ile de Ré and Belle Isle, before heading back to the Sables d' Olonne. It is notorious for being a difficult and intensive race as it's route is situated in a heavy maritime traffic area, which will add to skippers duties, and detract from any respite they might get.
More than thirty competitors, French, English and Irish, are expected on the start line. For those left on shore our YB trackers will be providing real-time metrics throughout the race. Each vessel will have a YB installed aboard, which will wake up every ten minutes and report gps coordinates, speed and direction along with several other items of information to a live map, so that friends, family and supporters can follow every twist and turn that this race has to offer.
