Adventure Race Croatia

This Wednesday, Adventure Race Croatia kicks off from Zadar, the beautiful and historic Croatian city located on the Dalmatian coast. Twenty teams of four athletes will be covering 342km on the three day adventure race that crosses through one of the most geographically diverse parts of the country.
Adventure Race Croatia is a demonstration race for the AR World Series which tests endurance athletes in a variety of disciplines including navigation, mountain biking, rafting, trail running, roping, canyoning and more. This year features four demonstration races and nine qualifier events all across the globe.
Teams receive their course maps just three hours before the start of each race. They are in digital lockdown from that moment onwards, using only a map and a compass to reach each checkpoint along the course. In the meantime, they’ll be battling physical and mental fatigue as well as the elements, going with little or no sleep for up to 10 days.
The AR World Series is the definitive adventure race series. The world’s best endurance athletes run in qualifier events and the top two teams will gain a position in the starting line of the AR World Championship. First place in the Croatia demonstration will receive priority to enter the AR World Championship taking place in November of next year.
